Texas Ballet Theatre Dallas School

The Summer Intensives programs are ballet-based intensives for the serious pre-professional dancers. Dancers participate in daily classes in ballet, pointe, variation, classical repertoire, modern and jazz. Audition for placement required for 10 and up. Throughout the week-long workshops, our young dancers between ages 3-10 will explore creative movement and musicality in a safe and nurturing environment. Each summer workshop will include ballet, storytelling, imaginative play and dance games related to the theme. Parents and friends are invited to a mini performance on Friday at the end of the week. Ballet Center of Fort Worth offers a complete classical ballet curriculum designed for ages 3 and up. Throughout the summer, Texas Ballet Theater Schools offer a range of programs for aspiring pre-professional dancers and budding ballerinas. These classes feature professional instruction from our skilled teaching staff combined with the fun of summer themes. Ballet Basics Camps introduce young children to the art of ballet. Our Senior and Junior programs are designed to improve technique through intensive study. Ballet Basics introduces boys and girls, ages 3-6, to the fundamentals of ballet. The camp experience also includes craft time, story time and choreography to correlate with the theme of the week. Young Dancer Intensive: Dancers ages 7-8 begin with a ballet technique class. The afternoon continues with a dance related study and craft time, and to spark new interest and expand abilities, students are introduced to jazz and modern dance. The Junior Intensive develops aspiring artists through concentrated technique training and performance experience. Intermediate dancers, ages 9-13, attend a variety of classes each day including a daily ballet technique class. The curriculum may also include jazz, modern, variations, pre pointe/pointe, Broadway, Pilates, character, tap and dance related studies. Each two-week session will conclude with a showcase of choreography learned during the program. Senior Intensive (Ages 12+, By Audition Only): Held on the campus of Texas Christian University, the Senior Intensive emphasizes technique, artistic expression and musicality necessary to prepare well-rounded, classically trained dancers for a company career. At Art Ballet Academy's summer program, dancers are encouraged to go beyond their technical training, explore new movement, and further expand their versatility as dancers. Training five days a week, dancers ages 10–18 work with renowned resident and guest teachers who are invested in each dancer’s artistic growth. The Summer Intensive concludes with the Summer Repertory Performance. Curriculum includes ballet, pointe, pas de deux (advanced level), variations, contemporary, character dance, hip-hop, flexibility/conditioning, French terminology and acting. Prep and Petite Dance Workshop for ages 6-8 years old ($290): This 5 day intensive workshop focuses on technique, strength, aesthetics and stage presence. Mini and Junior Summer Dance Intensive for ages 8 ½-11 years old ($400): This 5-day summer Intensive offers serious young dancers a comprehensive curriculum in ballet technique, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and tap. Take advantage of this 25-hour workshop to catapult your training to the next level. Going into its 6th year, the Dallas Hip-Hop Dance Fest remains the ultimate urban dance experience in Texas — combining both top-notch dance education and entertainment, with an underground battle and crew competition. Being the first of its kind in the Dallas area, DHDF strives to showcase the positive aspects of the hip-hop culture by highlighting its legacy as an agent of artistic progression. Founder and Executive Producer, Geena Ngaaje, established this event in an effort to not only educate, inspire and enrich the DFW dance community, but to also nurture and encourage emerging artists, and contribute to the evolution of both hip-hop and dance.
